Northern Sudan - Sun, Sand and Sweat

171

The best of roads, new pavement and few cars
The worst of roads, construction roads with many large trucks
Up before sunrise, breakfast at dawn
Pack tent, overnight bag, fill water bottles and RIDE
Every village has many children,
all want recognition as we ride by.
A pat on the hand, a wave, a handshake if we stop.
We follow the Nile, Nubian Desert on the East,
The great Sahara in the west
Sudan, a country full of polite and happy people
A country to savour, as it will change quickly.
