To live your dream where and when you choose it. Will it be cycling across the Sahara? Or biking around Ireland from one golf course to another? What about the Galapagos Islands - as seen on two wheels?
Whatever your dream, we’re here to to make it happen with a process that’s easy, fun and free.
To make your dream a reality you’ll need:

STEP 1 - What do you want your DreamTour to be?
Soon, you could be living the dream - anywhere that you choose. Where do you want to go?

STEP 2 - Register your free account
Let’s get you registered - it’s free and takes just seconds.
Simply choose a username, then enter your email address and password. (And, no, spamming’s not our style).
That’s it - you’re ready to get going!
STEP 3 - Tell us your dream and its details
Next you’ll fill in the details of your DreamTour (or those you’ve decided by now) in a short questionnaire (make sure you’re logged in first!) or download our planning worksheet to get you started.
We want to know the who, what, where & when.
Why are we asking? To make sure there’s sufficient detail for others to get involved and get excited.
Give us the bare bones and pad out the details later - but remember this is what we’ll share with the world, so you want it to sound good!
STEP 4 - Go for launch
After submitting your questionnaire, our team at Tour d’Afrique will quickly check all is in order. Once published on our website, we want your DreamTour to convince as many interested participants as possible. Our brief review will help to ensure this is the case.
STEP 5 - Plan for success
Congratulations! Your DreamTour is now live on the Tour d’Afrique website. Now, only one thing stands between the ‘dream’ - and the much more exciting ‘tour’.
Participants.
Willing riders are the necessary ingredient to a successful DreamTour.
Keep in mind that a full tour - with an optimum number of participants - is how you’ll get to ride for free. (Only you will know this number, it’s not public).
How will you find them? We’ve got lots of tips to gain exposure.
STEP 6 - Gaining support
Grab your nearest soapbox - it’s time to tell the world.
Email your closest friends, announce to your local club or Tweet your little heart out - let anyone and everyone know what you’re up to.
Invite others to visit your DreamTour’s web page on the website, where they can read your plan and give feedback. This is the fluid creation stage and the good advice of friends will strengthen your plan.
STEP 7 - Finding participants
While feedback is good - participation is better.
As your tour gains momentum, kindred spirits will want to join in. Fantastic! Your tour is nearing its move from dream to reality. Depending on your tour’s group size, we’ll step in with our planning expertise when enough people have expressed interest.
We’ll help you to:
STEP 8 - Deposits
Once registration opens, interested participants are invited to confirm their commitment with a fully refundable deposit (25% of the tour’s total price).
If this registration goes well and attracts interest, we’ll use the group’s deposits to start scouting and finalizing the trip details. We use the total number registered as the working group size in terms of logistics, accommodation, etc.
Throughout, your attention-getting marketing efforts will really help towards your DreamTour’s success.
STEP 9 - Will you ride for free?
We mean what we say: as the creator of a successful DreamTour, you may well get to go for free. How?
a) If your tour receives the minimum number of participants:
You pay just 50% of the tour price (final price determined by us at time of registration)
b) If your tour receives the optimum number of participants:
You go for free!
Receive a corollary percentage off your tour cost if registration is between 50 and 100% of optimum group size.
If the spirit takes you, you’re welcome to share your savings amongst your group - a nice little extra for all involved.

STEP 10 - Lift off
After that, you’ve only got packing and perhaps a bit of training to consider. You’ve done the hard work and we’ve done the rest - now it’s time for the dream to begin. On your bike!

- We normally approve DreamTours within 24 to 48 hours.
- If there are any problems, such as your questionnaire needs more detail, we’ll email you with our questions.
- Once approved, you’ll receive an email from us with a big, fat green light and tips on what to do next.
