Quito to Manaus, 80 days. From the glacier capped volcanoes of the Andes to the belly of confluence of the Rio Negro and the Amazon. Option addition of 25 days to take a boat down stream and ride self supported then get back on a boat finishing in Belem

Columbia would have made Vuelta too long. that was my main concern.

If you hold off until 2014 and push the end date forward to late June or early July, you can hit Manaus for the World Cup. No idea if that's realistic as I don't know what the climate is like in that area.

2014 for wolrd cup would be awesome but it may be a little too insane for a group of cyclists to ride thru the pandemonium, sometimes that is fun though. there are lots of options for the tour to continue dwon the Amazon hopping on and off the boat to ride some crazy jungle roads.
