About a year and a half ago, I got back into cycling, and it didn't take long for a dream to form... I want to ride the Trans-America trail.This tour runs from Astoria, Oregon, through 10 states, ending in Yorktown, Virginia.
From the wonderful cheese at the Tillimook factory in Oregon, to the geysers of Yellowstone, mountains of Colorado, friendly folk and excellent cuisine of the Ozarks, and several historic sites in West Virginia and Virginia, this route will give you your fill of experiences. Hell, you could knock out half your bucket list in one trip!At a gentle 50 miles per day with about one rest day per week for 12 weeks, this trip is well within the ability of any serious cyclist, and with the support of Tour d'Afrique, there's no excuses left... if you've been dreaming of doing a Trans-America but couldn't find anyone who wanted to do it with you, this is your chance!
