The idea of cycling the Silk Road literally sprang to my mind last year. Several reasons made me, finally, wanting to turn this idea into reality:

First, I am interested in Asia and have had some tremendously enriching experience there in the past. So, doing this tour with Tour d'Afrique will be another highlight in my personal history of travels in Asia. 

Secondly, I used to be an ardent cyclist and want to get back to the sport. Cycling to me has proven to be a liberating experience. 

Thirdly, I am currently in the process of moving, i.e. moving from one country to another & moving  professionalwise. So. The silk road adventure will be another aspect of my 'year of movements'.

Fourthly, I am looking forward to meeting like-minded people and experiencing not so well known parts of Asia.
