Tentative Dates: May 26 -August 25, 2013
Embark on the adventure of a lifetime from San Francisco to St John's!
“Two paths diverged in a wood, and I –
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.”
From “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost
Come with us in 2011 on our first ever North American Epic. From the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco to the Atlantic’s edge in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Cycle the Pacific coast of California and enjoy the beauty of Joshua Tree National Park. Let the Grand Canyon take your breath away, cross the Rockies of Colorado, the plains of Kansas, ride Route 66 into Chicago. See how us Canucks live as we cycle towards the great cities of Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec; then enjoy the big smiles and beautiful roads of the Maritimes as we make our way through New Brunswick and Nova Scotia and finally Newfoundland.
Traveling through 9 American States and 5 Canadian provinces in all, you will cycle along the breathtaking Pacific coastline of California, pedal through Joshua Tree National park, Marvel at the Grand Canyon, climb up and over the Rockies, speed across the American Plains, listen to the Blues in Chicago, cross the world's longest undefended border between the US & Canada, enjoy a beer and poutine in the friendly Canadian cities of Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City, follow the famous 'Route Verte' through Quebec, eat lobster and cycle the backroads of the Maritimes and finally arrive in St John's Newfoundland, a city that will steal your heart and soul.
Tour d’Afrique Ltd. provides the framework and support systems, including: tour staff, nutritious meals, campsites and other accommodations, daily routes and logistics, optional side trips, and the overland vehicles that transport the bulk of your baggage each day.
