With the snowcapped Andes overlooking the cityscape, Santiago is one of South America’s most modern cities, complete with diverse ethnic cuisine, museums and high rises. It provides a stark contrast to the many historical sites on this tour. As the tour pedals north, we pass through a series of beach resort towns and national parks. With the Pacific to the left and the Andes to the right this region is famous for its vineyards, markets and astronomical observatories.  The coastal roads are rugged but offer incredible opportunities for wildlife viewing, including penguins, sea lions, and whales. And everyday will end with a brilliant sunset.
